RESOLUTE

Society crumbles
And seeks to destroy you
To see the rise of the beast
Anything, they will do

Things are changing
As the world drifts into the heart of Hell
Babylon has from us our homes
And steals our minds as well

Though my chains encircle me
Resolute against Babylon
I shall be
Even carried away in captivity

Our temples and sanctuaries
They sought to rob
To fill with the dollar
The one they call God

Babylon came with sword in hand
To brainwash the children
To enslave
Every woman and man

Though my chains encircle me
Resolute against Babylon
I shall be
Even carried away in captivity

They crucified us
To make an example
In truth, they feared
They knew one day they would be trampled

Though this evil
Brings many souls to die
The Lion of Judah
Shall push the Sons of Hell aside

Though my chains encircle me
Resolute against Babylon
I shall be
Even carried away in captivity

Return me to Egypt
And to Ethiopia
Return me to Zion
That I may bow before Jehovah

Lucifer giveth the world
Such a broad grin
His joy
Would be our sin

Though my chains encircle me
Resolute against Babylon
I shall be
Even carried away in captivity

Prepare yourselves
My brothers and sisters
Prepare yourselves
The Judgment draws hither

As the things we knew and loved
Die and slip away
I wait, I wait
For that judgment day

Though my chains encircle me
Resolute against Babylon
I shall be
Even carried away in captivity

The sun shines
On the edge of this cliff
The World stands barren
As this stale wind drifts

I remain resolute
In my belief
Even at this onslaught
Given me by Satan the Thief

Though my chains encircle me
Resolute against Babylon
I shall be
Even carried away in captivity

So try and defeat me
If you think you can
I shall have the last laugh
As Jah cometh against thee with an angry hand

One thing you had not known
Like Bob Marley
You gave me a sword
That I may strike you down

Selah!
This is a song inspired by a multitude of things including commentary on a Bob Marley song, from which I partially borrowed and used a few words of the commentary in a verse. This was mostly inspired by The Abyssinians' "Satta Massagana," from the 1976 "Satta Massagana" album as well as a remix with Dancehall reggae artist Capleton entitled "Dislocate". It was also partially inspired by a conversation I had with a friend of mine over the phone tonight.
